Youth Count Awarded Local Grants The Board of Directors of Horseshoe Foundation (Caesars Foundation) of Floyd County has approved a grant to Youth Count to "continue the community wide initiative focused on building developmental assets, which are the building blocks youth need for success in life." Thank you Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County, for helping to build assets for our children and youth! ************************************************* The General Mills Foundation, through the local Pillsbury Plant's Community Action Committee, also awarded a grant to continue the work to build assets with youth by connecting adults to youth in our community. Danielle Braxton and Michelle Portwood, members of the General Mills (Pillsbury) Community Action Team present a check from the General Mills Foundation to Barbara Bridgwater and Carol Atnip of Youth Count.
Vince Klein Honored as Youth Count Volunteer of the Year at Gold Leaf Luncheon As a proponent of youth development and a life-long advocate for youth, Vince's contribution to Youth Count and to the young people of Floyd County began long before the creation of Youth Count. His efforts helped provide the baseline data necessary for creating the initiative. Vince was one of the initial partners who developed the concept and secured the financial resources which led to the launch of Youth Count. Since that time Vince has been an active participant of the Administrative Council and Partners' Network. He has also helped plan several Youth Count activities, including the Youth Adult Summit, Tailgate Party, and Community Celebration. Vince's passion and tireless efforts in promoting asset development further the growth of Youth Count for the well-being of our community's young people.
