The Partners Network is the heart of the Youth Count Initiative. Partners are able to share information, make connections, and create synergy for ideas and actions. The Youth Count Partners affirm that true community change in asset building will occur when all Partners and concerned individuals incorporate asset development in the course of their reqular programming. The Partners approved Talking Points which provide core elements for easily incorporating asset-building language in the course of regular activities. The role of Partners Network members is to:
The final meeting of 2008 is November 17. These third Monday meetings begin promptly at 3:30 and end by 5:00 PM. We meet in the lower level conference room of the Cancer Care Center at 2210 Green Valley Road in New Albany. The public is welcome to the meetings; no reservations are required.
Additionally, Youth Count will host One Southern Indiana’s 5 O’clock Network on October 23, 5:00 – 7:00 at the new YMCA in New Albany.
Promoting Asset Building within your own sphere of influence EXAMPLES OF HOW VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS PROMOTE ASSET DEVELOPMENT Center for Women and Families Sarah Bucy incorporates asset-building information into training for Center volunteers. To learn more about this organization which offers services to women and families affected by domestic violence, visit their website at CAPE: Community Initiative to Promote Education Director Becky King includes presentation of the 40 Assets in all parent workshops. To learn more about CAPE, phone their office at 812-542-4001 InfoLink Southern Indiana Linda Bourne, Director of InfoLink which provides information and referral services for southern Indiana, includes an "Asset a Month" in InfoLink's email newsletter, utilizing both colorful graphics and narrative. Interfaith Community Council, Inc.
